Raising Godly Offspring Small Group

More than ever, Christian parents need to be dedicated to raising Godly children, it won’t happen by accident
This 10-week small group is going to focus on how we raise Godly children, especially in the world we live in today. This group will be very practical and there will be a lot of practical take-aways from the discussion as well as plenty of time to ask questions about our specific children and time to pray for our children by name.

Doing a short 10-week course on parenting presents some challenges.  Raising girls and boys are different.  The ages and stages of your child will require different tools and insights.  Raising a 5 year old is different than raising a teenager.  Our children’s personalities and birth orders are different.  Some children have special challenges, like ADHD or may have very sensitive personalities that bring with it extra challenges.

With that a list of books has been compiled, please review the books and choose one or two that seem to fit what you need in your life right now.  Then look below for more information.

This group will run on Mondays @ 8pm starting on April 19th for 10 weeks on Zoom.

After reading Wild Things: The Art of Nurturing Boy, you’ll have a rich understanding of the role development plays in the life of a boy from birth through college. All stages and phases of development are covered – emotional, physical, biological, and spiritual. The book contains helpful sidebars addressing specific topics to discuss with your son such as sex, drugs, homosexuality, pornography, and masturbation. Each chapter ends with a section called “Putting It into Practice” that gives practical directions on how to successfully interact with boys at each respective level of development.

The God’s Design for Sex Series by Stan and Breanna Jones helps parents establish a biblical view of sexuality in the home. The four age-appropriate books (parent guide sold-separately) enable families to develop a healthy dialogue about sexuality. They provide children the foundation of truth and knowledge they need for when they are inevitably bombarded with confusing and potentially harmful messages about sex.

This small group will run as a collaborative effort – as all parents have gained wisdom over the years – as such it would be great to have you and/or your spouse help lead small sections over the course of the group.  For now, prayerfully consider which book or books you’d like to purchase (or if you have found meaningful parenting materials of your own you can list it below) and fill out the sign-up/survey below:
